MOSCOW, Mar 13 (PRIME) -- The Russian mobile operator MTS’ buyback may amount to 15 billion rubles, President Alexei Kornya said late on Thursday at a conference call.
“As to the buyback, we think we have a very strong financial position now, we demonstrate very good operating results, we’re positive about 2020 from the point of view of our main growth and potential OIBDA. In view of these factors, we think it possible to provide extra return on equity,” Kornya said.
“Considering the macroeconomic volatility and fall of prices on the bourses, we think it is more effective to use the buyback form, which is a preferential option for us now. As I said, the total volume we’re considering now is 15 billion rubles.”
